I’m thrilled that Yumi Lee, CEO of Older Women’s Network NSW, will be my in-conversation partner at the Maritime Museum on 23rd October. Yumi is a campaigner for peace, women’s rights and social justice for all.
In my last post, I wrote about the importance of having a writing community. I heard Yumi speak at the launch of Alejandra Martinez’s wonderful debut novel, Salsa in the Suburbs and Yumi was formidable. I had met Ale Martinez through a mutual friend at South Coast Writers Centre. Community!
I’m also looking forward to the Stanton Library event on 24th October. I know I’ll catch up with family and old friends there, and hopefully I’ll make some new friends who are curious about Secrets. I also heard a whisper that a few of my UTS writing community will be there to cheer me on.
Two UTS writing friends, Petronella McGovern and Cameron Stewart, had fantastic books published in the past year and they inspired me to keep writing. Community again!
